Askerov is definitely no stranger to YOKKAO or Muay Thai fans. He was one of the first fighters to sign on with the YOKKAO Fight Team in its earliest conception back in 2008. During that period, other notable fighters who signed on with YOKKAO included Saenchai, Sudsakorn and Buakaw. One of Askerov’s biggest fights took place at YOKKAO Extreme 2012 where he faced and lost to Buakaw over decision. 12,000 people attended the massive event which was held in Milan, Italy and brought together the best champions from both Muay Thai and K-1. Other than Askerov and Buakaw, Saenchai and Sudsakorn also made their fight appearances in the same event. Askerov appeared in YOKKAO Extreme 2013 the next year where he defeated Dutch kickboxer, Andy Souwer over split decision. Another highlight in Askerov’s career was his involvement in the popular Muay Thai reality-based television series, The Contender Asia. The series followed 16 Muay Thai fighters as they compete in a series of challenges and elimination matches. Askerov made all the way to the semifinals where he lost on decision to Australian kickboxing legend, John Wayne Parr. Askerov has dabbled in professional boxing and even mixed martial arts during his career. However, much of his fight career remains rooted in his beloved sport of kickboxing where he is a World Muay Thai Council’s welterweight European champion. Before this move back to YOKKAO fight team, Askerov spent much of his time fighting in Russia and in the last 2 years, with Chinese fight promotion giant, Kunlun Fight. Dzhabar Askerov has committed to the YOKKAO fight team and will be training full-time alongside fellow fight team members at YOKKAO training center Bangkok. Fans will also be pleased to know that Askerov will be available for private training sessions. It sure is getting more exciting at YOKKAO Training Center Bangkok by the day.
