The inaugural YOKKAO Fight Night was held last Saturday in Bologna, Italy to a great reception. A total of 19 bouts were on display including 14 Next Generation matches on the undercard. Fans were treated to an evening of back-to-back Muay Thai action in a card headlined by multi-time champion, Singdam who faced Italian fighter, Cristian Faustino.
Singdam and Faustino went toe-to-toe in a five-round thriller that had the audience at the edge of their seats. The Thai legend put on a clinic against his opponent, outscoring with big kicks and punctuating with a few elbows. Despite a cut in round three and taking the eventual loss, Faustino put up yet another outstanding performance to the respect of his opponent and the home crowd.
In another highly-anticipated bout on the card, Manachai returned to the ring in his comeback fight against local fighter, Alessio D’Angelo in the co-headliner. This was an important fight for Manachai who had to prove himself after a 3-month hiatus off the ring. Going into the fight with all guns blazing and blasting his opponent’s arm with devastating middle kicks, Manachai silenced the critics with a KO victory in round 3.
Following their respective wins, both Singdam and Manachai will return to Italy on 25 January 2020 for YOKKAO 45-46. Faustino will join the pair along with a star-studded lineup including living legend, Saenchai at the PalaRuffini Arena in Turin. For more information, check out www.yokkao.com/events/yokkao-45-46
