Biography

Born in Buriram in the North-East region of Thailand known as Isaan, Singdam Kiatmoo9 began fighting at the age of 9 just a few months after starting his training as is typical of many younger boxers. His older brother got him into the sport and his younger brother, Suadam, is another ring veteran with over 300 fights. At the age of 10 Singdam moved to Kiatmoo 9 gym in Takotaphi. He is currently married and has a daughter.

Fight Career

Singdam, or the Black Lion, has an impressive record of 269 fights with 64 losses and 2 draws. He specialized as a muay khao or knee fighter. He is known also as a technical fighter with devastating right kicks. Singdam would often push forward to clinch with his opponents and drive in the knees to gain points victories.

He secured his first belt at 13 years old, gaining the Isaan championship at 36kg. While he started off in the lower weight classes he would eventually settle much higher. He regularly fights in the lightweight division from 59-61 kg or 130-135lbs.

In 2002 he was able to get the Lumpinee Stadium belt in the featherweight division after beating out Orono Wor Petchpun. Later that same year he gained the coveted sports writers of Thailand fighter of the year award. In 2004 he was up for the running for the award again but lost it to Anuwat Kaewsamrit who was able to KO him with a decisive punch. He was bested by Anuwat twice both times knocked out by the Iron Hands of Siam.

In 2005 he began a rivalry with the acclaimed Saenchai PK Saenchai gym and won their first bout. In 2012 he was able to take the belt of Saenchai at 59kgs. Saenchai would beat him a month later at Rajadamern stadium on points. In total the two fought each other nine times with Saenchai winning five times and Singdam taking four victories.

Most of his career has been spent in Thailand and along with Saenchai he has fought a litany of other high level Muay Thai fighters. In 2004 he beat Yodsanklai Fairtex who is currently dominating the international stage. He has a win over Petchboonchu FA Group along with Sagatdao Phetphayathai both at Lumpinee stadium and both by decision. He also has several wins over Kaew Fairtex and TKO’d F16 Rachanon. He has had several bouts against Nong O Sit Kaiyanghadaogym. In 2014 he was able to win the Toyota Marathon taking on his rival Saenchai PK Saenchai gym in the final of the tournament.

Since late 2015 Singdam has begung to fight internationally frequently appearing on Superstar Fight cards held in China. Along with notable Chinese fighters Singdam has been able to seize the victory over Liam Harrison at YOKKAO 15 in England in late 2015.

He currently trains and fights out of YOKKAO Training Center Bangkok along with his former opponent Saenchai PK Saenchai gym.
